Khao mok gai chicken Briyani rice

As an Indian, I’ve did many types of Briyani in Indian versions. Few Briyani types are more tricky to get the perfect tasty rice at all time. More over, those are various upon their cooking methods and ingredients too. Since, I like to explore on foods, today I’ve cooked chicken Briyani rice in Thai version, which known as Khao Mok Gai. It is very popular rice dish which you can find at all the time in Bangkok,Thailand.  It is very tasty and aromatic dish ever that I’ve made before this. Those roasted and ground spices made this dish so aromatic and flavoured. The tendency of the chicken pieces were so perfectly done with special ingredients that I used in.Just few ingredients I’ve grinned instead of pounding, but it doesn’t change the taste at all.  Literally this was my first time of cooking for this dish. Homemade poori with potato masala



Today I would like to post the basic poori recipe here. Poori is the yummy breakfast  which most people loved to have with potato masala. My kids loved it. I had often did poori for my family breakfast. They were always go for second helping of poori with masala.
Its always a treat when we were in childhood. I love my grandma's potato masala specially for poori. It's awesome. It's almost similar to my recipe. Simplicity always my style that gives awesome results. 
Wheat flour was my choice for poori. Some were used melted ghee or oil upon making poori,me ...use really hot oil...

Let's move on to recipes...

For poori
Ingredients
Wheat flour - 2 cups
Salt - 1 tsp
Oil - 3 or 4 tbs
Warm water 

For potato masala
Ingredients 
Potatoes - 4  cooked and mashed
Green chili - 1choped
Red hot chili - 1choped
Tomato - 1cubed
Onion - 1 sliced 
Ginger n garlic (gg) paste - 1 tbs
Salt 
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp 
Curry leaves - few 
Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Water 

Preparation
For poori


Mix well flour with salt in a bowl. Heat oil ( 4 tbs ) and pour into the flour mixture. Stir with a spoon. Add warm water a little at a time until forms a soft and nonsticky dough. Knead well.. Cover the dough bowl with a wet cloth and keep aside.. Now prepare for potato masala dish ...

Preparation 
For potato masala


Heat oil a pan and drop some mustard seeds until it's pops... Add in onion with curry leaves, stir well. Now, add gg with chilies and turmeric powder. After it's fried well, drop in the mashed potatoes into pan and stir well... In this stage add some plenty of water to cook well until it's turned gravy..add salt to taste...done

Then heat some oil in another pan to fry poori ... Pinch off small sized ball and roll in with your palms. Dust with flour on your chapati board and roll in the dough ball with roller pin into circle and not too thick or thin ...roll out all pooris and start to fry it into smoking hot oil. Flip it immediately so not to over cooked... You will notice that the poori starts to puffed up while frying..it's perfect ! Keep on frying all.... Served it with potato masala ..yummy
